Job description

Project Management and Coordination:
- Lead engineering and project management for the installation of floating wind cables, fixed-bottom offshore wind cables, and interconnection submarine cables.
- Develop installation strategies, risk assessments, and detailed execution plans tailored to each project type.
- Direct the Front-end engineering and planning stages of new cable installation projects. Including interfacing with 3rd party engineering activities
- Oversee end-to-end project management, including timeline management, budget oversight, and resource allocation for both floating and fixed-bottom cable projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that all phases of the installation process adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
- Manage and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and vessel providers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Lead offshore operations, ensuring that all handling and deployment procedures meet both technical and safety standards.
- Interface with and manage installation contractors, clearly communicating project expectations and scope.
- Evaluate contractor proposals, providing targeted feedback to ensure they meet technical requirements and project objectives.
- Manage contracts and enforce compliance with safety and performance standards.
l Technical Consulting for Floating Offshore Wind Projects:
- Utilize expertise from flexible umbilical handling and installation to inform best practices in floating wind cable operations.
- Contribute to the development of installation methods and innovative approaches that address the evolving demands of floating offshore wind technology.
- Provide consulting expertise and technical guidance on floating offshore wind farm installations, supporting integration with established subsea practices.
- Advise on specific installation methods, ensuring technical compatibility with floating wind requirements.
- Support floating wind project teams by offering insights and recommendations on installation-related issues as they arise.
- Support the production and manufacturing teams with dynamic cable end termination handling plans and assembly processes.

Job requirements

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
l Significant experience of more than 10 years in offshore installation engineering and project management, specifically within fixed-bottom offshore wind cable installations, interconnection submarine cable projects, or flexible umbilical handling / Floating OWF projects.
l Proven expertise in coordinating large-scale offshore projects, with a focus on safety, logistics, and stakeholder communication.
l Proven experience in managing and evaluating installation contractors, including reviewing proposals and providing actionable technical feedback.
l Strong project management skills: budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.
l Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional collaboration.
l Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for offshore and subsea projects.
l Knowledge of the unique engineering and operational challenges associated with dynamic cables and umbilical cables, with a desire to contribute to cutting-edge solutions in this emerging field.
l Technical understanding of floating installations, including specific challenges and methodologies unique to floating technology.
l Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to adapt proven techniques to new applications
