2nd Engineer

Atlas Professionals are currently looking for available 2nd Engineers to mobilise to of our clients ERRV vessel on the 27th December on a permanent basis. This would be x4 rotation.

Job description

• The operational status of the ship, its machinery, propulsion systems and technical equipment permanently installed on board, during his period on watch.
• The safety of personnel within his sphere of influence.
• The maintenance of the vessel, machinery installed on board in a sound condition ready for operations.
• Reporting any defects to the plant and machinery installed on board to the Chief Engineer.
• Recognising stores requirements, spares and equipment for the Engine Department.
• The execution of actions to fulfill the approved company Planned Maintenance System on board and to report progress made in this endeavour. The ultimate responsibility for implementing this system however, will remain with the Chief Engineer.
• Monitoring safe working practices of shore contractors during periods of maintenance.
• Providing a safe working environment within his sphere of influence by adhering to and policing the company's safe systems of work, including permit to work.
• Examining and accepting stores and spares delivered to the vessel, and informing the Chief Engineer of any missing / outstanding items or items delivered in error.
• Assisting in the fuelling procedure to ensure all precautions are being adhered to.
• Actively promoting and progressing the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
• Actively promoting inter-departmental communications.
• Stop the job when required
• Ensuring all personal original certification is on board and valid when sailing including ENG1, CoC and STCW95 and OPITO. This must also include a valid passport.
• Reporting any illness or injury to crewing agent that may affect his capacity on joining.

Job requirements

• 2nd Engineer COC (Limited as Minimum)
• Seafarer Medical (ENG-1)
• Relevant STCWs for Position
• Worked as a 2nd Engineer previously
