Job description

 Responsible for the maintenance and safe and effective operation of an offshore monopile gripper system used for the guidance and installation of steel monopiles for offshore wind farm constructions (Gripper Operator) and/or of all deck equipment used for offshore cable laying operations (Tensioner Operator) and/or of the carousel equipment (Carousel Operator) in compliance with safety, maritime and environmental regulations.Tasks and Responsibilities Operational
•    Monitor conditions of and operate the offshore gripper, tensioner or carousel and all related technical equipment. 
•    Execute routine checks and basic day-to-day maintenance tasks. 
•    Assist during boarding and deboarding of carousel operations.
•    Assist the engine room department during repair activities of gripper, tensioner or carousel equipment.

QHSE
•    Maintain the safety and environmental regulations on the assigned equipment.
•    Make sure the Management System, company policies as well as the standing instructions are executed.
•    Comply with all national, international and local maritime law and regulations as well as industry standards.
•    Report all incidents and near misses according to the company policy and engage during safety drills.

Communication
•    Discuss with and advise the Deck Foreman, Lifting Supervisor and Superintendent about methods to optimize the cable laying operation and/or operation of monopile installation.
•    Ensure clear and effective communications with the bridge, Deck Foreman and Superintendent and no major action will be undertaken or executed without informing these colleagues. 
•    Report all alarm, malfunctions and incidents of the assigned equipment to the Master, Chief Engineer and/or Superintendent. 
•    Under supervision of the Superintendent during operations, otherwise under supervision of the Deck Foreman and Chief Engineer (depending on the actual task).

Administration
•    Ensure a timely and complete administration of gripper, tensioner and/or carousel operating activities, checks, basic scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, 
•    Keep proper record of consumption of spares on board. Authorisation
  •  Is authorized to make decisions and perform accordingly in order to execute the above tasks and responsibilities, always acting in accordance with the vessel related agreement, Project Plan, Management system, company policy, standing instructions and maritime law.
