Job description
Our client are looking for someone with Cable lay experience ideally.- Oversee and manage the implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures at the project site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site-specific HSE plans, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company standards.
- Coordinate the site safety induction and training programs for all new employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety signage are appropriately utilized and maintained across the site.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, ensuring detailed reporting and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation as required for internal and external audits.
- Promote a strong safety culture through regular safety meetings, tool-box talks, and continuous engagement with the workforce.
- Monitor and manage waste disposal, hazardous materials, and environmental impact in accordance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
- Ensure emergency response procedures are in place, including the availability of first aid and firefighting equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to integrate HSE considerations into all phases of the project, from planning through to execution.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections to ensure all legal and corporate compliance requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including managing pollution control measures, waste management, and energy efficiency.
- Manage and report on HSE performance metrics, analyzing trends and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and external stakeholders on HSE-related matters as needed.
Job requirements
- Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, etc.).
- Proven experience in a similar HSE management role, preferably within industrial or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk management, and emergency response protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver HSE training programs effectively.
- Proficient in the use of safety management software and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
