Exciting permanent role for Naval Architect based in Hamburg, our client is searching for someone with previous experience as per the job spec below.
Position: Naval Architect
Location: Hamburg
Rate/Salary: Depending on experience
Type: Permanent
Duties and responsibilities of the Naval Architect:
• Assess project requirements and research the feasibility of new technologies.
• Collaborate with New Construction Teams both onshore and onsite to support project needs.
• Engage in the tender process for client and construction awards, contributing to project budgets, timelines, and specifications.
• Produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and other software as requested by its clients.
• Maintain relationships with Design partner organisations.
• Review, input, and develop test procedures, including computer modelling and scale models.
• Interpret and analyse data and test results.
• Work with the Supply Chain Manager, Head of Special Projects, and Technical Managers on equipment selection and system implementation.
• Identify solutions for technical and operational challenges, particularly in relation to vessel repairs.
• Write reports and documentation as required by projects and the management system.
• Give presentations to support operational, technical, and commercial needs.
• Undertake research related to the adoption of new technology, alternative fuels, and decarbonisation strategy.
• Collaborate with the Special Projects function and Environmental SMEs.
• Provide technical advice and answer client queries.
• Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
• German language skills are a definite benefit
• Relevant experience in shipyards or design offices.

Job requirements
• Degree in a relevant subject, e.g., Naval Architecture.• German language skills are a definite benefit
