Technical Superintendent

Due to the growth of fleet, Atlas Professionals are seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent for one of clients to join the Marine Department. This position is based in North Holland and will involve providing technical support for a group of vessels. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience as an engineer, preferably on offshore vessels. Previous experience in a similar role is not required, as in-house training will be provided. This is a permanent position.

Job description

• Coordinating all technical matters in compliance with company policies, maritime rules, regulations, and industry standards.
• Monitoring machinery and hull performance for long-term cost savings.
• Collaborating with the Operations/Marine department to ensure optimal vessel performance in line with commercial obligations.
• Inspecting vessels and preparing attendance reports on their condition, equipment, and crew performance.
• Attending assigned vessels to troubleshoot technical problems and develop procedures for resolution.
• Implementing preventive maintenance for ship’s hull, main machinery, deck machinery, electrical equipment, etc., according to Class/Flag State requirements.
• Managing damage repairs while ensuring the vessel’s commercial competence and developing long-term corrective actions.
• Monitoring all technical issues and defects, following up until corrective actions are completed and verified.
• Developing repair methods and selecting subcontractors for quality assurance in collaboration with other departments.
• Preparing repair, conversion, and dry-docking specifications, and supervising the execution of all such works.
• Overseeing supply management (Monitoring, Maintenance, Creating PO’s, etc.).

Job requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of vessel maintenance experience.
• Eager to work in a fast-paced environment within a growing company.
• Strong theoretical and practical technical knowledge in maintenance and repairs.
• Excellent communication skills (English is required; French and Dutch are a plus).
