Due to the overgrowing wind industry in the Netherlands, Atlas has taken the initiative to organise the Wind Experience Days to inform and attract technical professionals about working in the Renewables industries.
Sharing knowledge
For over 12 years, Atlas Professionals provides personnel to engineer, plan, install and operate an offshore and an onshore wind farm. With the knowledge we have gained throughout the years, we would like to inform students and professionals about working in this green, upcoming and challenging industry and the career opportunities it entails. The low-threshold event is free to visit and we hope that we could inspire technical experts to make a step towards the renewables industry.
Joost Pellis, Strategic Manager Renewables at Atlas Professionals stated: “Sharing knowledge with the industry and professionals is very important to Atlas. Therefore, we have different partnerships in the renewables industry and initiated, for example, this event to inform and inspire students and professionals about this promising and challenging industry with bright future perspectives”.
Wind Experience Days
The first Wind Experience Day will be held on Thursday 28 March 2019 in IJmuiden. During this day we will introduce the wind industry via a diverse programme including presentations by partners of Atlas and some interactive elements. There will be the possibility to climb an offshore wind turbine in VR and you can do a CV check to see how you can optimize your career in wind and hear about the various job roles the wind industry has to offer. Next to this, we have invited two Atlas professionals who work for us in the renewables to tell about their work experiences.
Partners
To make the Wind Experience Days even more successful we have invited De Oude Bibliotheek (DOB) from Delft to inform about their training programme in wind (from entry to advanced level). They will bring with them a Rotor Game where you can build and test your own rotor. DOB will also show you the influence of the wind turbines on each other, the so- called “Wake effect”.
Hendrik Goos, DOB: “Staying in contact with technical professionals is something we aim for. The Wind Experience Days organised by Atlas Professionals are a perfect way to keep in contact with professionals who would like to learn about the wind industry and are ready to take the next step in their career.”
Next to the DOB, we also invited for this first Wind Experience Day our highly valued client MHI Vestas Offshore Wind - based in IJmuiden as well. They will present the projects they are currently working on, but also future projects, and will explain the developments in the industry. Next to this, they will bring with them a QHSE professional to discuss about safety when working on an offshore wind turbine.
