Job description

The Site QHSE Manager’s job purpose is to manage and monitor the QHSE management system on site during the project execution. The Site QHSE Manager ensures compliance with all local legal regulations and corporate HSE Management systems.
  • Site QHSE manager must ensure that all project management activities comply with general Nordex HSE regulations and specific HSE regulations for construction sites
  • Develop & review Project HSE documentation Nordex / Subcontractors: o HSE Plan, o Risk assessment, o Method Statement o Emergency response plan
  • Prepare a welcome package and HSE site inductions
  • Responsible for HSE documentation collection and "release to work" stage of new personnel
  • Lead & follow the implementation of Nordex HSE plan & safe system of work on site
  • Maintain regular communication with Customer and Subcontractors representative related to HSE topics
  • Collect and register HSE observations, incident information and propose action plans
  • Maintain a continuous reporting of HSE observations
  • Prepare and update the Monthly HSE Report
  • Initiate & support the HSE continuous improvement system on site
  • Initiate HSE discussion & participate to Toolbox Talk meeting with on field teams
  • Ensure the on-field activities follow & correctly reflect the implementation of the HSE management system and report the potential deviations to the Supervisors & Site Management
  • Responsible of checking the general safe conditions of the entire site & working areas (access roads, pads, etc.)
  • Perform and document HSE inspection / audit on site
  • Lead the planning and perform Emergency Drills and Rescue Concepts in cooperations with Site Management
  • Contribute to manage and monitor all aspects of health, safety and environment at the wind farm site including daily HSE briefings and inductions
  • Support manage Nordex HSE systems such as Permit to Work systems, LOTO, etc.
  • Ensure that all communications (such as Safety Notices, Alerts and lessons learnt bulletin’s) are effectively communicated to the workforce
  • Assist in the investigation of injuries, environmental incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents where appropriate as requested by the QHSE Manager

Job requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a HSE position in operative project execution and construction site management for complex technical projects in either civil construction, manufacturing and plant engineering industry, the wind energy sector and/or similar industries/energy sectors.
  • Formal education in HSE or in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Completed a minimum of “Middelbare Veiligheidskunde (MVK)” education or equivalent
  • Excellent Dutch & English language skills required (both spoken and written), language skills in German as well would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Environmental experience
  • Ability to work in a team, self-organized and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under stress
  • Quick grasp and capable of making decisions
  • Readiness for extended business trips to construction sites, wind farms within the Netherlands, travel to HQ in Hamburg may also be required  
  • Physically able and qualified to work at heights
