At the moment we have a vacancy for the temporary position of Deck Foreman to work offshore on our client's Offshore Construction Vessel during the Subsea Pipeline Project. We have top open positions that would be for two trips starting 28th June x 4x4 and 31st July x 4x4.
• Take pride and ownership of the back deck and lifting equipment storage area, including proper housekeeping to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
• Promote teamwork and be proactive and helpful towards all departments on-board, including marine, lay-system, ROV, survey and subcontractors to allow the vessel to work as efficient as possible.
• Progress work scope as directed by the Shift Supervisor and in accordance with the relevant Task Plans and approved Procedures.
• Proactively participate in project safety briefings, shift briefings, HIRAs, Management of Change and cascade to deck crew as relevant.
• Ensure adherence to the Management System, including Management of Change.
• Ensure that the deck crew is fully briefed and familiar with the upcoming work scope, including conducting Toolbox Talks
• Act as “Person in charge” for the required “Permit to Work” for deck operations.
• Responsible for implementation of safe rigging practices.
• Maintain the rigging equipment and ensure that all lifting/rigging equipment is in certification and appropriately tagged.
• Ensure that the deck crew has the required competencies in their areas of operation and are aware of their personal responsibility for the performance of their job.
• Ensure proper induction/familiarisation of new deck crew members and help develop and train these to make full use of their capabilities. This includes identification of additional training if needed.
• Appraise the performance and behaviours for crew members under the Deck Foreman’s control and suggest promotions where relevant.
• Delegate rigging team to assist in deck operations.
• Familiar with offshore construction work, including laying of flexibles and umbilical’s, heavy lifts, etc.
• Must be fluent in English verbally and written
• Excellent communication skills
• Must work well as part of a team
• Recognized rigging certificate
• Valid medical certificate
• OLF and OPITO offshore training and certification
- The Deck Foreman is responsible for the execution of construction activities on deck, including coordination of crane, winch, and lay-spread operations.
- The Deck Foreman is responsible to ensure that such activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and in accordance with approved vessel and project procedures.

Job requirements
• Previous experience of deck operations on an offshore construction vessel is a pre-requisite and minimum of 3 years prior supervisory experience is mandatory for this position.• Familiar with offshore construction work, including laying of flexibles and umbilical’s, heavy lifts, etc.
• Must be fluent in English verbally and written
• Excellent communication skills
• Must work well as part of a team
• Recognized rigging certificate
• Valid medical certificate
• OLF and OPITO offshore training and certification
