Job description

  • Identify the crewing needs in conjunction with the COO Wind.
  • Directing, supervising, planning and coordinating all crew changes.
  • Prepare the schedule for the crew changes of individual vessels and provide to clients as required/requested.
  • Responsible where required to organise suitable crew accommodation on or offshore liaising with client project management as appropriate.
  • Recruitment of crew, opening and closing Articles of Agreement, crew rolls and crew wages.
  • Monitoring and tracking crew performance and maintain appraisal system while crew member is on board.
  • Ensure that the Master submits crew appraisals on time dictated by company policy.
  • Liaison with manning agents.
  • Develop incentive arrangements with regard to crew contract extensions and re-joining.
  • Advise senior management during crew discipline matters.
  • Coordinate response to crew personal and medical matters.
  • Ensure crew’s final accounts are verified on signing off.
  • Verification and checking of crew certificates, qualifications and endorsements.
  • Assist manning agents in evaluation during the recruitment process.
  • Participate in the process of determining crew promotions.
  • Issue and control of uniforms for crew members.
  • On call to resolve out-of-hours crew emergencies.
  • Responsible for crew welfare for the duration of their contract.
  • Responsible for crew training requirements as per specific client needs and ensuring in house training is conducted and catalogued.
  • Responsible for the integration and scheduling of Tonnage Tax training requirements as per management instruction.

Responsibilities HSEQ
  • Contribute to continual HSEQ improvement under the guidance of the HSEQ Manager.
  • Bring the Company HSEQ Policy to the notice of all crew.
  • Encourage and establish a safety and environmental culture and awareness of all Purus crew.
  • Provide input to Emergency Response Planning.
  • Supervise and contribute to adherence to local project-related HSEQ requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental excellence.

Responsibilities Reporting
 
  • Prepare weekly reports for the Management.
  • Ensure that Crewing Management reports are accurate and reflect project performance, and highlight issues.
  • Provide cost analysis of all crewing items as requested by the Management and Accounts team.
  • Supply information and give advice as requested.
  • Ensure that the valid Flag State endorsements / Provisional Cert of all joining Officers should be hand carried prior to join the respective vessel.
  • Create, maintain, upload and update the records of the crew into the crewing database system.
  • Provide the accounts department with necessary information about the crew monthly payroll and ensure the accuracy of inputs.
  • Ensure that all crew meet Flag State and ISM regulations with regard to certification.
  • Prepares timely and accurate status reports as required by the Crewing Dept.
  • Ensure that the crew are qualified by meeting the legal HST requirements with regards to certification and experience.
  • Prepare all employment contracts for the crew.
  • Submit to concerned parties the required information and documents.

Job requirements

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Professional qualification in crewing administration.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working as a crewing officer.
  • Computer skills (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of marine operations.
  • Working Knowledge of MLC 2006.
