The Project Engineer independently provides full technical support to small-sized and less complex technical tenders, projects and designs, or parts of medium to complex tenders, projects and designs. This ensures they can be realized according to the agreed requirements (safety, quality, time, budget, legal requirements, regulations and other). Independently drafting specifications and procedures for the realization of tenders, projects and designs within the set framework and customer and contractual requirements in such a way that an optimal project result is achieved. Independently designing and developing (new) technical solutions that meet all the requirements. Provide an optional solution to the customer and mitigate risks or keep them to the lowest possible level. Persuading external customers / surveyors of the feasibility and safety of the proposed solution / method and the resulting specifications Responsibility for defining engineering scope for small projects and/or less complex technical tenders or parts of complex projects, including staffing, planning and budgeting. Supervising and assessing work of colleagues, subcontractors and customers, to ensure that tenders, projects and designs are executed in accordance with requirements. Responsibility for progress reporting on small projects and/or less complex technical tenders (or parts of complex projects) to internal and external customers. Timely identification of deviations in time, engineering resource demand, quality or cost, compared to engineering planning, requirements and budget. Assisting and advising on the execution of tenders and projects, in some cases on location. Provide logistical support. Participation in continuous improvement of department processes and procedures and evaluation of the engineering process. Responsible for identification of lessons learned and ensuring implementation of follow-up actions related to lessons learned. Manage small engineering teams, coaching of team members on the job, and contributing to performance appraisals of project team members.

Job description

  • Responsible for drafting MOC's and supporting documentation / calculation notes where required
  • Responsible for documenting and archiving of ITP activities (a.o. As-built documentation)
  • Responsible for explaining, sharing knowledge and provision of (prepared) project documentation on board
  • Participate in the (last-minute) risks assessments and pre-shift / toolbox meetings
  • Support and advise Captain, OCM and/or shift supervisor in toolboxes, (client) meetings and or decision making
  • Gathering of Lessons Learnt during project execution and sharing of knowledge
  • Responsible to set-out actions in onshore organization for further follow-up and improvement on lessons learned

Job requirements

  • 3 - 6 years relevant work experience. Experience with relevant work methods and techniques and relevant discipline software and models. Relevant experience with project management. Good command of English (written and spoken). Advanced knowledge of ICT office and planning applications and basic knowledge of drafting applications. Knowledge and experience of operational processes (offshore experience)
  • University or Higher Professional Education in a relevant direction such as civil, mechanical or naval engineering.
