HAL acquires additional interest in Atlas Professionals

31 March 2016

HAL purchased an additional 25% interest in Atlas Services Group Holding B.V. (“Atlas Professionals”) as per March 30th. This brings HAL's aggregated shareholding in Atlas Professionals to 70% of the equity share capital.

Marcel Burghouwt explains: "René Neelissen and myself will remain Managing Directors and our role will not change. We are proud that HAL is even more committed as a long term shareholder in the current challenging market conditions. Together with Jeroen Ekkel, Luuk Kornelius and Mark Niederer (Executive Committee) and our staff we will continue to improve our services to both our clients and professionals."

"I am very pleased about our cooperation with HAL and we like to be involved as Entrepreneurs for many years to come. We see several opportunities to grow and are confident that we strengthen our position in the marketplace going forward,” says René Neelissen.

The history of HAL (Holland America Line) dates back to 1873, when its activities consisted of transporting passengers and freight to and from America. In 1989 HAL sold its cruise division and went forward as an investment company. Its ultimate parent, HAL Trust, has a listing on Euronext in Amsterdam and had a net asset value of approximately € 13 billion on December 31, 2015.
